Crafting

I have been busy finishing up a few projects the last couple of months. I have made a rag quilt and finished an afghan that I have been working on for a few years. Yes, a few years. Below are pictures of the finished project.

Hoover Dam/Lake Mead

On the way home from Arizona, we stopped at Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.

M&M World

On the 4th floor of M&M World there is a little bit of heaven. It was the floor with a full size Kyle Busch car. LOVED IT!!
Yeah baby, who is #1......#18 is the man!
Front view of the car.

Side view of the car with Kyle's signature.

Shelby Factory Tour

When we were on the Motor Speedway tour, the tour lady told us about the tour of the Shelby factory. It was free so we decided to take it. It was really interesting. There is a lot of money sitting in the museum. We couldn't take pictures while we were in the factory though.
Can't see it very well, but there is a scoop that goes down in the middle of the hood.
Entirely aluminum car. Very shiny!!!
Picture of engine for Erik.
2011 Shelby Super Cobra
Not sure what this car is.
Elenore.....almost like the car from Gone in 60 Seconds

Las Vegas Motor Speedway Tour

So Erik and I decided that we wanted to go take a tour of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Thursday morning. It was the best $12 spent in Vegas. It was so much fun.
This is a view from the middle of the track. Our seat were clear down at the end in the red. There were twice this many seats to the right that you can't see. HUGE!!!
The start finish line at the speedway.
Erik and I on the start finish line. Notice how dorky my sunglasses look. I guess they have been that way for awhile. Maybe my nose is just crooked....LOL.
I guess they have people write on the track before the race. Kyle Busch lover and hater.....most are haters, but this girl is a lover.
I also like Kurt Busch, Kyle's older brother.
Here one for Erik's guy....Carl Edwards.
Another hater....
Another lover....
View of an empty infield. See the signs in the distance. They tour lady told us sponsors pay $100,000 per year to advertise there. She said they won't be taking them down anytime soon to add more seats, and now you know why.
View of the pits from a suite. We got to visit at $140,000 per year suite. It was very nice. It was owned by Orleans Casino.
A view of the grassy area that was untouched by anyone in the race. Not even Carl disturbed it after he won. No spin-outs......boring.
The Neon Garage. They have performers here during race weekend. They also have windows into the garages where you can watch work being done on cars. Erik and I will be purchasing tickets for this the new Vegas race we go to.
The backstretch, where Kyle blew up (sigh) and Jeff Gordon crashed his car (YES!!).
View of the seats from the suite.
Another view from the suite.
The banking at the track was incredible. The tour lady took us on two laps around the track in a 15 passanger van. She was going 95 miles an hour. It was SO much fun. NASCAR put these marks on the track so the cars could kind of tell where they are at.
